Actor Writer Director Musical Theatre Writer Teaching Artist

We are such stuff as dreams are made on…

Welcome to my page!

I’m originally from Philadelphia but have lived in New York City for over ten years and in 4 of the 5 boroughs.

I originated the role of Tiny Tim in the Menken/Stroman/Ahrens/Ockrent A Christmas Carol and I’ve acted in regional theatre, outdoor Shakespeare in New York, PA and MD, and the Kennedy Center.

I have an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU where I wrote book and lyrics for the award-winning Jennifer the Unspecial: Time Travel, Love Potions & 8th Grade which is published by Youthplays. It’s about a quirky 8th grader, Jennifer who realizes she doesn’t need anyone’s approval or the guy she likes to like her to be radiant! The greatest reward of all is that it has been produced 5 times in New York, Philadelphia, North Carolina, Ohio and online.

I was also a bookwriter/lyricist on Under The Bodhi Tree about the Buddha by Jingoo Lee, Julie Song and Daniel Lincoln.

I’ve written short plays, one that has been produced called Singing In The Shower which was translated to Italian.

My dream is to write full length plays and musicals, and screenplays too!

I still remember when I was about five marveling at the actors coming in from the woods during an outdoor production of Midsummer’s Night’s Dream. I love how theatre elevates us, makes us laugh, and stuns us.

I also cofounded the Instant Musicals Group at NYU where we wrote and performed fully staged musicals in 2 hours! I did 30 musicals with that group and I think a lot about the power of brainstorming, creativity, and creative boundaries/programs/games, and hope to share more thoughts here.

Thank you for visiting! Wait! before you go, check out Jennifer’s I want song, “I don’t like him!”
